I'm rounding up my review. Ultimately, I'd say it's a 3.5 for the quality and flavor of the food, but the overall value of the meal is worth bumping up to 4 stars for me. I got a Small Plate (which was still huge) with the Kalua Pork and the Volcano Chicken and the pineapple fried rice and potato-mac salad. The pork was pretty good, basically exactly what I expected. The chicken was also good, but didn't strike me as particularly outstanding. Based on the smells, I'd say this is more of a BBQ joint than specifically a Hawaiian place. I'll have to try out their BBQ sometime in the future.

I'm from Portland and the food at KC is better than anything I've had in Oregon. Great meat choices. Sides are good and price is fair.
